A hotel film is often the first thing people see before they book a room. On your site, on Booking, on Instagram. How it looks is decided long before the camera rolls. This is what we ask every hotel before the shoot.
1. Season and time of day
Shoot when the hotel looks the way you want guests to remember it. Pools full, garden green, clear sky. During the day, the best light is early morning and the last hour before sunset. White walls turn warm and shadows soften. At midday the light is harsh and burns out the whites.
2. A shot list
Before we arrive, we make a list together. Which rooms and suites, pool, restaurant, bar, spa, view, and the details that set you apart. A good list saves hours on shoot day and leaves nothing important out.
3. Rooms ready as if for the first guest
Beds made without creases, fresh towels, flowers. Cables, signs and personal items out of frame. Curtains open and every light on, even in daytime. The camera sees more than the eye, and in 4K every detail shows.
4. People in the frame
An empty hotel feels cold. Two or three people swimming, eating or relaxing bring it to life and show what it is like to stay there. They can be models or members of your team. If guests appear, you need their consent.
5. Drone
An aerial shot shows where you are in one second. The sea, the village, the distance to the beach. The drone needs calm weather and, in some areas, a permit. That is why we put it early in the schedule.
6. Which versions you will need
One shoot produces many videos. We like to know them from the start, so the shots are also set up for vertical framing.
- A 1-2 minute hotel film for your site and YouTube
- Short 15-30 second versions for ads
- Vertical 9:16 videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok
- Photos from the same spots for Booking and reservations
Colour and editing
After the shoot, the footage goes through editing and colour grading in DaVinci Resolve Studio. There we match the colour of every shot, so the hotel has one look, the same in every video.
