A Greek manufacturer since 1973, Viometale makes door handles, interior doors, kitchen worktops and furniture materials in its own factories in Athens and Oinofyta. They asked us for a corporate video that shows something simple: that things are still made in Greece here, by people who know their craft.
The video is entirely our own production. From the idea and the shoot to the picture, the sound and the SFX.
A company that makes everything itself
In Oinofyta, in a 10,000 square metre factory, raw material becomes a door. It is cut, laminated, passes through the CNC machines, gets its hinges and leaves ready for a home, an office or a hotel. In Athens, robotic arms polish the handles one by one.
What stayed with us most was the people. Every machine has someone who knows it inside out, and every door passes through human hands before it leaves. Half a century of experience shows in the way they work, unhurried and proud of what they make.
The picture
We shot in 4K inside production, with the machines running and people at their stations. Close-ups of the wood, the light of the laminating line, hands measuring and screwing, and aerial drone shots by Lefteris Krousonas that show the size of the factory. The colour was graded in DaVinci Resolve Studio, giving the whole video a warm, clean look that suits the wood.
The sound and the SFX
In a factory, sound is half the story. The hum of the machine, the cut of the wood, the click of the hinge. Sokratis Seirlis built the sound and SFX from scratch, with SFX on every movement and properly licensed music, so you hear the work and not the noise.
Behind the camera
We worked during the factory's normal operation, alongside the Viometale team. Three people on set: Vaggelis Tsagarakis on camera, Lefteris Krousonas on the drone and Sokratis Seirlis on sound. A camera on a gimbal to follow the movement along the lines, and plenty of conversation with their team about what each machine does, so every shot says something true.
